Lisa McWilliams

Lisa McWilliams is owner and manager of local business Keenaghan Cottage.

This once dilapidated thatched cottage has not only been restored to its former glory, but is now a multi-award winning business, including the island of Ireland’s only five-star awarded authentic thatched cottage accommodation, welcoming guests from every corner of the world, whilst gently educating them on the importance of sustainable and regenerative tourism.

From working first-hand on the practice of sustainable and regenerative tourism, her contributions have been highly recognised in a very short space of time, both nationally and internationally through multiple awards and accreditations. Keenaghan Cottage is currently awarded the ‘Best Self-Catering accommodation in Northern Ireland’ by Tourism NI and Lisa is currently a finalist in the Ireland’s Homes Interiors and Living Awards for her contribution to sustainable housing and is also a finalist in the up-coming All Ireland Sustainability Awards, both soon to be announced.

Lisa serves on various boards and networks, including Board of Governor for her local school and as a member of Fermanagh Lakelands Tourism and the Cuilcagh Lakeland’s Geopark.

Could you be part of the Belleek Hub Dream Team?

As activities at Belleek Hub start taking shape, we are seeking expressions of interest from anyone would like to lend their time, skills and experience to get the Hub ready to hit the ground running and maintain momentum as activity ramps up in 2025.

In the first instance, we're looking for people who can commit to even a few regular hours on a weekly or monthly timetable on a voluntary basis, as well as for people who would like to help run a specific event like the Christmas Craft Fair.

Our longer-term plan will be to create paid employment opportunities at the Hub - by the end of 2025 if not well before that.

In the meantime, thank you in advance - all offers of assistance gratefully received!
